Friend says GOP should do more
It disgusts me to hear that in time of defeat, mayoral candidate Dave Friend has tried to establish blame on the NE GOP. In no situation in life should anyone ever try to find a scapegoat when something does not go their way.
Right now times are good in Omaha, and Fahey hasd done nothing to lose voter's confidnece and the GOP could knock on every door for Friend and the outcome of the election would be the same. Friend fails to realize this and shame on him for alienating his support base when he needs them most. A bad bridge to burn.
It would be a good time to revamp your message and ENCOURAGE more volunteer support, because it is Friend's message that has not resonated with the Omaha voters, not the GOP's. It is quite obvious from the 2004 elections and the other City Council races that the NE GOP is doing just fine.
I have been placing requested signs for Friend for a couple of months now; does this mean when the General Election does not go in Friend's favor, I will be to blame? I know first hand that the GOP strongly supports its candidates. We walked street by street in Gretna, Springfield and Omaha for our 2004 candidates; I don't recall ever seeing Friend walking with us.
I want a leader as Mayor of Omaha, not some who will answer the call by doing the exact opposite of his opponent. Don't annex Elkhorn? Come on, it has to be done and the voters want it done! I especially want someone who will stand up in a time of adveristy, not someone who will pass the buck!
Rant Complete.
